Floating Castle
This is the hanging castle - a miracle that generations of emperors have spent the lives of tens of generations to build. With the support of alchemy, the castle is suspended in the air forever, like the sword of Damocles above the people. In the hoisting ceremony of the hanging castle, the people finally overthrew the comrades of the dynasty, and the life of the emperor rose into the sky with the hanging castle.

Inspiration

The inspiration of this model comes from my interest in Byzantine architecture in the process of creating my board game, and in the process of making the art content of my board game. Among the many games I've played, the concept of a steam castle suspended in the air in BioShock Unlimited has stuck with me. I wanted to create a castle in the air that could be suspended in the air. In this process, I learned to build different 3D models by using modeling software.

Material

Gold
Blue Brick
White Brick

On the material side, I didn't use overly complicated material overlays, I felt that too realistic material handling was not in line with the dreaminess I wanted to create, so I used simple material nodes to create unity. Different materials will bring complicated material transformation, I think I have no way to control the complex number of materials at present, I finally decided to remove some of the original material balls in the trial and error.

Light and Effect

Light and Effect under different angles
I used the camera at the same Angle for different lighting processing to create lighting effects in different scenes, so as to show how I deal with different effects of lighting on objects in different environments. In the daytime setting, lighting was relatively easy and I used Hdri texture maps from the Internet to create the environment. At night, I need multiple lights to coordinate and map my objects. The lighting arrangement at night makes it more interesting for me.
